How Guide Star works — Parkinson's companion

How It Works

How Guide Star works

General information is everywhere. Guidance for your situation isn't.

How It Works

Set it up once. Ask anytime.

Three steps to guidance that actually fits your life with Parkinson's.

Tell Guide Star about your Parkinson's

Conditions, symptoms, medications, goals. Once — you won't have to re-explain yourself every time you have a question.

Ask what to do next

Movement, daily life, questions for the care team, how to talk to family — whenever you need an answer. Not a diagnosis. Not a prescription.

Bring your people with you

Care Circle is free. They see a read-only profile and get their own private chat framed around how to help — without changing your information.

What building your profile actually involves

It takes a few minutes, not a form to dread. Guide Star asks for your diagnosis and when it happened, your current stage, the medications you take and when you take them, the symptoms you're managing day to day, and what you're actually trying to accomplish — staying mobile, staying independent, keeping ahead of what's coming. None of it is information Guide Star already assumes about people with Parkinson's in general. It's the information that makes your Parkinson's different from anyone else's, and it only has to be entered once.

What changes once it exists

Before a profile exists, a question like whether a new symptom is worth mentioning to your neurologist gets an answer built for anyone who might ask it. Once your profile exists, the same question is read against your stage, your medications, and what you've already told Guide Star about how things have been going — so the answer starts from what's already true about you instead of restating information you could find on your own.

What your Care Circle sees

You and your Care Circle don't see the same thing. You control your own profile and your own chat. Someone you invite gets a read-only view of that profile — enough context to ask something useful — and their own private chat, framed around how to help rather than how to manage a diagnosis that isn't theirs. They can't edit your information, and nothing they ask changes what you see. It's a second, separate line of support built around the same facts, not a shared account.

After the trial

The free trial runs seven days. If you keep your account past that, billing starts at $7.99 a month — no separate step, no additional setup. Care Circle access stays free for anyone you've invited, for as long as your account is active. If Guide Star wasn't useful, canceling before the trial ends means you're not billed at all.

Guide Star is a companion, not a schedule. There's nothing to keep up with — ask when you need to ask, and your Care Circle can do the same, for free.
